Special News:: Van Fund
Our church has
purchased a new
van. This allows us to
continue our Van Ministry to provide transportation to and from church services
and other church activities for those who need a ride. There
is still a need to pay off the small loan. If you would like
to help, please see the Treasurer. We encourage all of our
members to join in this ministry through their giving.
Union City Baptist Church was established as a
church in 1812. We have a long and dedicated service to the community in which
it serves. Our church is a member of the Tates Creek Baptist Association as well
as the Kentucky Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention.
Message from our Pastor
God's Grace is such a wonderful thing is it not? I mean stop and think about the grace God has shown to us. Paul in the New Testament reminds us over again how that before we came to Jesus that we were hateful or mean or ugly in our attitude or just plain disobedient to God. We did not deserve to have forgiveness, but we got it anyway. We did not deserve to be loved by God, but we got it anyway. We did not deserve to go to Heaven, but we are going there anyway. There is a lot of things we deserve to get, but we are not going to receive them because of God's Grace. Some say that Grace is God's Riches At Christ Expense. I would say that we don't get what we deserve because of what Jesus has done for us. Let us be forever reminded of God's Grace upon our lives and may we ever be reminded to show that same grace to others. They may not deserve it , but neither did we. Bro. Rick
Church Covenant
Having been led, as we believe
by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord
and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the
Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost, we do now, in the presence of God, and
this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another
as one body in Christ. We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to
walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church,
in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality;
to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute
cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the
church, and the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all
nations.
