"But you
will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my
witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the
earth." Acts 1:8
Our mission is to be
a loving, great commission church. (ref Matthew 28:18-20)
Special News:: Van Fund
Our church has
purchased a new
van. This allows us to
continue our Van Ministry to provide transportation to and from church services
and other church activities for those who need a ride. There
is still a need to pay off the small loan. If you would like
to help, please see the Treasurer. We encourage all of our
members to join in this ministry through their giving.
Union City Baptist Church was established as a
church in 1812. We have a long and dedicated service to the community in which
it serves. Our church is a member of the Tates Creek Baptist Association as well
as the Kentucky Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention.
Message from our Pastor
Psalm, 29 is where we are this time. This is a wonderful Psalm for us to look at. This Psalm starts out with the glory of God. Why would this Psalm start with the glory of God? It is because in everything we are to give God His Glory, all glory belongs to God and God alone. But this is not the only reason, David then tells us about the voice of God. In verse 4 David writes"The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic." Stop for a second and think about the voice of God. It was by His voice that God spoke the world into being, everything, except man, was made at the sound of God's voice. Isn't that amazing? Then there is the Bible where God speaks to us His word. And of course there is the still small voice of God that whispers to us about the things in our lives. The voice of God can be heard today, because He is still speaking to us. Are you listening to the voice of God? There is no better way to live. Bro. Rick
Church Covenant
Having been led, as we believe
by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord
and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the
Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost, we do now, in the presence of God, and
this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another
as one body in Christ. We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to
walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church,
in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality;
to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute
cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the
church, and the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all
nations.
